Schubert Biopsy Forceps are used to take a precise biopsy of the cervix. Schubert Forceps have scissors like finger rings, angled shank, and oval tip. The lower jaw has serrations which can grasp the tissue to take a maximum size bite.

The forceps oval cups can fit into each other, it reduces the risk of losing the tissue sample as the instrument is withdrawn. The forceps can be used in the areas where straight shank forceps cannot be used.

Biopsy Forceps are also called Biopsy Punch and commonly used in OB/GYN. Schubert Forceps are Grasping Biopsy Forceps with Interfitted Oval Cups. The overall length of the Schubert Forceps is 26cm.
 
Biopsy Forceps Common Uses:
Biopsy Forceps is used to take a sample (bite) off the face of the cervix or from the edge of the cervical os (opening). This is done usually when the physician is suspicious of carcinoma (cancer) growing on the cervix. The sample is put into a vial of sterile saline and sent to the lab for analysis.
