Thomas-Gaylor Biopsy Forceps are used to take a precise biopsy of the cervix. Thomas-Gaylor Forceps have scissors like finger rings, double angled shank, ratchet, and a circular tip. The lower jaw has a cup-like shape which can collect the bite(s). The ratchets are used to lock the forceps. 

The forceps circular cups can fit into each other, it reduces the risk of losing the tissue sample as the instrument is withdrawn. The forceps can be used in the areas where straight shank forceps cannot be used.

Biopsy Forceps are also called Biopsy Punch and commonly used in OB/GYN. Thomas-Gaylor Forceps are Grasping Biopsy Forceps with Interfitted Circular Cups. The overall length of the Thomas-Gaylor Forceps is 23.5cm.

Biopsy Forceps Common Uses:
Biopsy Forceps is used to take a sample (bite) off the face of the cervix or from the edge of the cervical os (opening). This is done usually when the physician is suspicious of carcinoma (cancer) growing on the cervix. The sample is put into a vial of sterile saline and sent to the lab for analysis.
